The Medicare Better Access Initiative aims to provide up to 10 Medicare rebated sessions per calendar year with a Psychologist and some other allied health providers. To access this funding, a mental health care plan and referral need to be completed by your GP.
The current rebate for clinical psychology is $141.85
Services can be provided for clients who have psychological intervention included in their NDIS plan and are plan managed or self-managed.
If you have private health extras cover, your fund may offer reimbursement for Psychological Services. Rebates vary between health funds, so it is recommended that you contact your fund directly for more information.
Michele is a private provider for the Department of Child Protection (DCP). Referrals need to be made through DCP Psychological Services.
If you are able to pay the full fee without reimbursement you do not require a GP referral.
Payment is currently made through direct debit and is required on the day of your appointment. Medicare rebates can be quickly processed once payment has been made.
We understand that life can get very busy for families. However, when appointments are missed, other families may be missing out on support. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please provide at least 24 hours notice.
A cancellation fee may be charged for unattended appointments. Please note, medicare rebates do not apply to missed appointments.
